Approving the strategy on development of building materials in Vietnam for the period of 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050

In Decision 1266/QD-TTg dated August 18, 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung signed the promulgation of the Strategy for the development of building materials in Vietnam for the period of 2021 – 2030, with orientation to 2050.

The overall objective of the Strategy is to develop the building material manufacturing industry to an advanced and modern level; products of international standard quality, economical and efficient use of energy, highly competitive in the international market, meeting the needs of the domestic market; completely eliminate the production technology of building materials, which is outdated, consumes a lot of resources and pollutes the environment

At the same time, export products with high added value and strong competitiveness in the international market. Limit the export of products that use a lot of raw materials and fuels which are non-renewable mineral resources.

To achieve the above objectives, the Strategy proposes 7 implementation solutions: Perfecting institutions and policies; Efficient and economical exploitation of mineral resources; Promote research and application of science and technology; Promote domestic consumption of construction material products and export; Training and improving the quality of human resources; Improve equipment manufacturing capacity; Environmental protection in production.

In which, the Government assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to direct the collection, management and recycling of industrial wastes (ash, slag from thermal power plants, metallurgy, chemicals, etc.) to use as materials. construction material.
